Week 3 High School Football

 Into Week 3 now, my record is 37-13, including 7-1 in Spotlight Games (Geneva let me down last week). This week's picks:

LAKE COUNTY GAME OF THE WEEK: St.Ignatius (2-0) at Mentor (2-0). The Wildcats will try to run all over the Cardinals, and the Cardinals will try to pass over the Wildcats. So what will happen? It could go either way, but it's tough to beat Mentor at Osborne Stadium. PICK: Mentor

ASHTABULA COUNTY GAME OF THE WEEK: Lakeside (0-2) vs. Edgewood (1-1). Big rivalry in Ashtabula. Last year Edgewood won 25-0. This year I think that the Dragons return the favor, and pick up their first win since 2009. PICK: Lakeside

GEAUGA COUNTY GAME OF THE WEEK: Maple Hts. (2-0) at Chardon (1-1). Is Chardon football back? A split against their two big Geauga County rivals is a step in the right direction, but I don't think they're ready to beat the defending Division II state champs. PICK: Maple Hts.

EASTERN CUYAHOGA COUNTY GAME OF THE WEEK: Kirtland (2-0) at Orange (2-0). The Hornets take on another D3 school in Orange. Although I can see a pretty close game here, as the Lions are a little better than the teams Kirtland has played thus far, Hornets will stay unbeaten. PICK: Kirtland
